MEET OUR ALUMNI

Our inaugural cohort of NextGEN Fellows concludes their fellowship in March 2022.

Andreae Sennyah

Andreae currently works on research and policy files as a political staffer in Edmonton, Alberta. She completed her undergraduate degrees at the University of Calgary, majoring in International Relations and Political Science. Andreae is focused on the fundamental dignity of the human person and how this dignity can be affirmed through public policy.

Lester Liao

Lester is a pediatrician, vocation consultant, and Director of Common Pursuits. He has studied and taught across Canada and continues to engage in cultural conversation through various national publications. He lives in Toronto with his wife and three children.

Anointing Momoh

Anointing is an economist with experience in developing, supporting, and implementing policy research projects in developing and developed country contexts — for both the government and non-government sector — in a wide range of policy areas, from migration to transportation to education. He received his master of public policy from Simon Fraser University, where he was the recipient of the program’s two most prestigious merit-based awards, and he also holds a master of economics from the University of Ilorin and a bachelor of economics and statistics from the University of Benin.

Danielle Hartung

Danielle is the Senior Projects Communications Specialist for Samaritan’s Purse Canada, a Christian international relief organization based in Calgary. Her work has taken her across South Asia, Sub-Saharan Africa, and the Middle East, where she has served in relief and development projects across a variety of sectors. Her previous roles with the Canadian Embassy in Washington DC and the Canada Strong and Free Network, a Calgary-based think tank, have contributed to her passion for public policy and leadership. She is eager to further explore these passions through the Cardus Fellowship.

Dorinda So

Dorinda has spent the last decade working with and advising business, government, and academic leaders on economic and social policy areas, drawing from her work in many different industries, from sustainability and health care to transportation and government. She holds a MA from York University, a BBA from the University of Toronto Scarborough and is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP).

Maxime Huot Couture

Maxime is a Ph.D. candidate in political science at Université du Québec à Montréal. In addition to his research in contemporary political theory, he contributes to the public debate by writing in various journals and magazines. He currently lives in Quebec City with his wife and children.

Brendan Steven

Brendan has spent nearly a decade as a professional writer, a career which includes founding a student newspaper at his alma mater, McGill University; serving as speechwriter for a former federal Finance Minister; and working as a senior creative copywriter within one of Canada’s leading communications agency families. Today Brendan is chief writer at a leading Canadian charity, ranked by Maclean’s and MoneySense magazines as one of Canada’s best charities in 2020.

Kripa Koshy

Kripa holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Development Studies from McGill University, and a Master of Public Administration from Queen’s University. She joined the Public Service of Canada in 2017 and currently works on international refugee protection policy at Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada. Born in the United Arab Emirates, Kripa is a first generation Indian-Canadian who is passionate about racial reconciliation; in her spare time, she can be found reading with old Hindi music likely playing in the background.

Peter Copeland

Peter is a husband, son, brother, Ontarian and Canadian. After pursuing graduate school in philosophy, he entered politics and public policy, where he now works as a policy advisor. In a rapidly changing world, it is imperative to think strategically about how to instantiate the structures of governance and forms of life required to maintain a society characterized by ordered liberty. He tries to learn from, renovate and develop those timeless principles that are the inheritance of Christian and western civilization.

Brittany Lorenz

Brittany is a policy and communications professional with a background in the federal government and government relations. She is currently a political staffer, who has previously been part of a government relations team, working with a range of corporate, not-for-profits and business association clients on policy and advocacy matters. She also teaching the Ethics and Public Affairs course for the Trinity Western Laurentian Leadership Centre. Brittany holds a Masters degree in Political Management from Carleton University, a Masters of Arts in Philosophy and Public Ethics from University of Ottawa, and a Bachelor’s Degree from Redeemer University.

Kristopher Kinsinger

Kristopher is an Ontario lawyer and the incoming national director of the Runnymede Society. He received his JD from Osgoode Hall Law School, where he was awarded the Bora Laskin Prize for writing the best paper in his graduating class on the topic of law and religion, and is currently completing his LLM at McGill University with a Joseph Armand Bombardier Canada Graduate Scholarship. He currently serves on the board of directors of Christian Legal Fellowship and is a member and deacon of Hespeler Baptist Church in Cambridge.

Sean Hedley

Sean is a government lawyer in Calgary, AB. When he’s not in pushing paper or making submissions in court, he’s usually with his kids reading books or playing outside.
